Over the past two weeks, those big piles of blocks that were delivered have fulfilled their destiny and now sit neatly ordered, filled with cement, and ready to hold back vast amounts of dirt.
It was a short week last week, with Wednesday’s EKKA public holiday taking up a valuable build day, but nevertheless some good progress was made. The steel is finally all in, and the footings that the guys have been working hard on are just about there too.
This week we started to get a sense of the scale of our house, with the steel now up to support our living room and kitchen. There is absolutely loads of steel in this house – particularly because there are some big spans requiring support. It doesn’t come cheap either, but I guess shelling out for steel is preferable to your house falling down.
